Teaching Resources
Below are links to some protocols that I have developed for measuring sperm traits. I’ve also linked some videos covering a range of topics from my current research, and collaborators research to ecology of my field sites made in collaboration with Bob Cox and Aaron Reedy (Cox lab, UVA), Dan Warner (Auburn U.), and Michele Johnson (Trinity U.).
Be sure to check out the Evolution Education and Data Classroom websites if you are interested in resources and research opportunities for Middle and High school teachers!
Protocols
Lizards of Arizona
Anoles of Puerto Rico
Anolis Phylogeny Excercise
Michele Johnson's Resources for Teachers
SpermTree
John Fitzpatrick, Rhonda Snook and I have assembled a sperm database that that spans the animal tree of life, and includes >5,500 entries, >4,700 species, and >1,300 publications. We hope that this can become a living resource where researchers can contribute their own data, and use the database to study the evolution of the world's most diverse cell!
